Save A Life...YOUR OWN!

Do you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure? Have members of your family suffered from these ailments? Do you have a poor diet? If you answer yes to any of these questions, you may want to consider being screened  through the services of Life Line Screening. Life Line Screening uses ultrasound technology to view the plaque build up in your carotid arteries, the main arteries that carry blood to the brain. Blockages in these arteries are a leading cause of stroke. We are pleased to host this Life Line Screening event on 7/3/2017 at First Congregational Church of Wyandotte.

Register for a Wellness Package which includes 4 vascular tests and osteoporosis screening from $149 ($139 with our member discount).  All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete.  In order to register for this event and to receive a $10 discount off any package priced above $129, please call 1-888-653-6441 or click here to visit our website or text the word circle to 797979

Since a few of you have inquired about electronic giving and donations, we have been looking into starting up such a program. It will give you the flexibility to be able to give...even if you happen to not attend church that day. One of the biggest conveniences of this program is that you do not have to write a check or give cash. You will have the option to give through text, mobile, or online giving. Giving can be done by credit, debit, and ACH (echeck).

We currently have the Text Giving set up. It is as simple as texting: FCCW to 73256 and then following the prompts. Your donation will automatically be entered into your giving file on the church's giving program and the donation will be directly deposited into the church's bank account.

We are working on setting up the Online Giving and the Mobile Giving features. With Online Giving you will be able to access your giving statement online, anytime. You will also be able to schedule tithes and offerings, access prior giving history, and print contribution statements. You can even set up recurring payments. If you would like to participate in Online Giving, please make sure the office has your current email address. We will contact you when the Online Giving feature is ready to launch.

With the Mobile Giving feature, you can give, manage donations, set up recurring payments, designate specific funds, and more...wherever you are! We will also be adding a link from our website so that anyone will be able to donate at any time. The website will also contain a QR code.

If you have any questions about this exciting new program, please email our Treasurer Sue Forsman at or contact the church office.

The Vacation Bible School theme this year is "Royalty: Child of the King." We need old costume jewelry to cut apart for crafts. Also need buttons and jewels. Mark your calendar: VBS will take place the week of June 26th. If you need more information or have questions please see Sarah Pettigrew or Susan Medley.
Please reserve the week of July 17-21 for the summer lunch program for children! Since school is out, many children who normally receive free or reduced cost lunch would not have nutritious meals if it were not for this program.
Volunteers will be needed to make sandwiches at the high school, travel to the parks to assemble lunches, and assemble "brown bag blessings" take home meals. Please note that FCCW will be responsible for one (and only one) entire week during the summer. If you know you can help, please sign up in Fellowhip Hall, or see Sarah Pettigrew for more details.
In addition to the staffing requirements, we are also attempting to collect 300 tuna fish/chicken salad/ hummus lunch packs (like the kind sold at Aldi for 99 cents) to help fill the "brown bag blessings" take home meal bags. We will have a clearly labeled bin where you can drop off your donations, or if you would prefer to donate funds to help with purchasing the food, please see Pastor Carrie, Sarah Pettigrew, or Susan Medley. Please note that these donations will be needed no later than June 12.
We are beginning an outreach to Wyandotte Hospital and would love your help with our first project. We are collecting new, smaller puzzle books and coloring books for adults and children to use while in the hospital. Please see Sarah Pettigrew if you have any questions. Donations can be left in the box in the sanctuary until July 1. Please let us know if you would like to help label the donations or help deliver them to the hospital.
  • If anyone has any gently used books they would like to donate for a mobile library for the Soup Kitchen it would be appreciated. Please see Sarah Pettigrew for details.
  • We now have a paper retriever in our parking lot. We are collecting paper only, NO CARDBOARD! Please ask everyone you know to get into the habit of dropping-off newspapers, magazines, and other paper. Over time we can raise funds for our church by collecting these items. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!
  • In 2017 we will be celebrating our 125th Anniversary! Our History page can be viewed by clicking here and we are hoping to update that page. If you have historical information that should be added, please submit it to the church office.
  • You can now hear audio recordings of Rev. Orlando's past sermons by clicking here.
